The Language & Culture School of Omaha (LACSO) seeks to offer English language opportunities for immigrant populations in Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa, while collaborating with other nonprofits interested in establishing programs by offering trainings in the teaching and tutoring of ESL adults.

LACSO is a nonprofit located in Omaha. We have offered English classes to adults in our facility for nearly 20 years. We have helped hundreds of new arrivals learn Basic and Advanced English. We have given hundreds of families the skills needed to help them better communicate with school personnel. We are helping participants study for the citizenship exam. We are expanding our program to help local businesses better prepare their employees for the workplace by adding workforce classes.

Lessons in English are offered via Zoom for interested non-English-speaking members of the Omaha/Council Bluffs community. LACSO also collaborates with other local nonprofits to offer face-to-face instruction. Students are tested using Best Plus, and are divided into classes based on language level. Classes in Citizenship and GED for Immigrants are also offered.
